MUNCY -- Numerous concerns voiced about crashes and traffic volume on portions of State Route 44 in Porter and Watson townships in Lycoming County resulted in a study of that highway being done by PennDOT, and with it, the lowering the speed limit to 45 miles per hour from the Venture Inn to the south of State Route 973, Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming) said today. In addition, a study of State Route 287 is getting under way in Piatt and Mifflin townships.

HARRISBURG – The 96th Pennsylvania Farm Show will be held Jan. 7-14, 2012, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg, and Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming) said today he would like Lycoming County residents who are participating in, or exhibiting at the Farm Show to contact his district office so he can visit them at the show.

HARRISBURG – Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming) said today he voted to approve House Bill 1950, which contains the House version of a Marcellus Shale impact fee. The vote on final passage was 107 to 76.

HARRISBURG – Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming) introduced House Resolution 463, designating November as Infant Safe Sleep Month in Pennsylvania, which passed the House unanimously Monday. The resolution calls attention to the problem of children who have died due to having unsafe sleeping environments.

HARRISBURG – In response to concerns voiced by many Commonwealth residents about the chemical makeup of fracking fluids used by well drillers, Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming) today introduced legislation to require full public disclosure of the chemical composition of the fluid used to hydro-fracture the shale in the production of Marcellus natural gas.

MUNCY – Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming) said today that his office is organizing a gift card campaign in an effort to further assist victims of the recent flooding in the 84th Legislative District. He asks residents who were not affected by the flood to purchase gift cards from local retailers that can be distributed to victims through various aid agencies.
