Everett, Wheeland Announce Awarding of Volunteer Fire and Emergency Services Grants for Lycoming and Union Counties
HARRISBURG --The Pennsylvania Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant program has announced funding awards of more than $500,000 to groups in Lycoming and part of Union counties, Reps. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming/Union) and Jeff C. Wheeland (R-Lycoming) today said.

“This is a beneficial program for our first responders in the region who put themselves on the line for public safety,” said Everett. “This is funding that will help improve services and facilities.”

Wheeland said this is a good example of state dollars being put to the proper use in Pennsylvania.

“Our local volunteer fire and EMS companies are faced with having to raise money many times to keep operations going, so these dollars are very welcome,” said Wheeland. “The funds will be put to good use and our local residents see the tangible results with fire and emergency services being readily available. We must continue to assist them in their work.”

In Lycoming County, 45 fire and EMS companies will share in a total of $509,765.
Everett said the Union County township of White Deer will receive these funds as follows:

• White Deer Township Volunteer Fire Company, $14,284.70
• White Deer Township Volunteer Fire Company EMS, $6,461.97.

Part of the service territory of Warrior Run includes Gregg Township. Funding awards for Warrior run are as follows:

• Warrior Run Fire Department, $14,007.69
• Warrior Run Ambulance, $7,444.80
