Wheeland, Everett to Host Concealed Carry Seminars This Fall
HARRISBURG – Due to the continuing popularity of these events in the region, Rep. Jeff C. Wheeland (R-Lycoming) and Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming/Union) will host a series of Concealed Carry Seminars in September and October.

The first will take place on Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department, 2 S. Railroad St., in Hughesville. The next two events will take place on Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Duboistown Volunteer Fire Department, 2661 Euclid Ave., in Duboistown, and Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Hepburn Township Volunteer Fire Company, 615 E. Route 973 Hwy., Cogan Station. All seminars begin at 6 p.m. and all interested residents of the 83rd and 84th Legislative Districts are invited to register to attend.

“There has been a great response to the past seminars which demonstrated the need to continue to conduct more events,” said Wheeland.

“Our concealed carry laws are critical to public safety and the seminars will cover a great deal of valuable information to our residents,” said Everett.

Lycoming County District Attorney Eric Linhardt will discuss Pennsylvania’s Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground laws, Lycoming County Sheriff Mark Lusk will explain rules and regulations surrounding licenses to carry firearms, a police officer will discuss how to safely interact with the police when carrying a firearm and an officer from the Pennsylvania Game Commission will discuss firearm carry laws as they relate to hunting seasons.

Seating is limited and advance registration is required. Those interested in attending should contact Wheeland’s district office by calling at (570) 321-1270, or via email at Or residents can contact Everett’s district office by calling (570) 398-4476 or via email at More information is available on Wheeland’s website at and on Everett’s website at
