Everett to Address Central Pennsylvania Sleds and Treads Meeting
MUNCY – The Central Pennsylvania Sleds and Treads (CPAST) organization will host Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming) as part of its April meeting for a discussion of the Pennsylvania Recreational Use of Land and Water Act (RULWA). The focus will be on House Bill 544, which proposes to include snowmobiling, all-terrain vehicle use and motorcycling to the list of activities covered under state law.

“Our region is home to a lot of outdoor sporting activities and this pending legislation will have an impact on that,” said Everett. “I am delighted to join CPAST for this meeting as this group does a lot for outdoor enthusiasts in the area.”

The meeting will be held Thursday, April 24, at 7 p.m. at the Hughesville Fire Hall.
Everett said the legislation would amend RULWA by expanding protections for landowners and awarding legal fees to property owners found not liable for injuries to recreational users.

Central Pennsylvania Sleds and Treads Inc. formerly Highland Lake Snowmobile and Outdoor Recreation Club was established by a group of outdoor enthusiasts in 2005 and boasts over 100 members from the Lycoming, Sullivan and surrounding counties.
