Everett to Host Town Hall Meetings in District
HARRISBURG – Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming) invites the public to a series of Town Hall Meetings in the 84th Legislative District this month to discuss the new legislative session and other state-related issues.

“2013 begins a new session with a new General Assembly. I think it is a great time to get together with my constituents and the general public to recap what happened in Harrisburg in the last couple years, where we are and where we need to go. I look forward to the opportunity of interacting with residents of the district,” Everett said.

If there are particular issues that residents would like to see addressed at these meetings, please call one of the district offices at (570) 546-2084 or (570) 398-4476, send an email to or visit the website at

The meetings will be held from 7 - 8:30 p.m. as follows:
  • Thursday, Jan. 17, Antes Fort Volunteer Fire Company, 231 Front St., Antes Fort.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Trout Run Volunteer Fire Company, 241 State Route 14, Trout Run.
  • Monday, Jan. 28, at C.E. McCall Middle School, 600 Willow St., Montoursville.
  • Thursday, Jan. 31, Hughesville Volunteer Fire Company, Railroad and Water streets, Hughesville.

Everett said there are a number of challenges to be faced by the Commonwealth in the new session.

“Our economy continues to struggle, so there will be a continued focus on controlling government spending, while also tackling problems with our transportation infrastructure,” said Everett. “Education and health care will also be large issues in the days and months ahead.”
