PA 529 College Savings Program Helps Families with College Tuition Costs, Says Everett
HARRISBURG – Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming) would like to inform residents that the Pennsylvania 529 College Savings Program is available to help families cover the costs of tuition.
The program, administered by the Pennsylvania Treasury Department, is currently offering free online enrollment, a savings of $50, to help families get started. Families who enroll in the 529 Guaranteed Savings Plan receive free enrollment when they visit the 529 website and use the coupon code MYPLAN. The promotion is good through Sept. 30.
The program currently serves more than 163,000 accounts with $2.5 billion in assets. It offers a range of resources specifically designed to help families and students save for college and deal with rising tuition rates, including the Pennsylvania 529 Guaranteed Savings Plan and the Pennsylvania 529 Investment Plan.
To help educate more families about the benefits of the plans offered, the Pennsylvania 529 College Savings Program is offering free college savings webinars over the next several weeks.
