HARRISBURG – Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming/Union), chairman of the House State Government Committee, issued the following statement after the governor announced today a county reimbursement scheme involving the borrowing of funds from the Pennsylvania Economic Development Financing Authority (PEDFA), which is generally an agency that deals with local economic improvement rather than election costs. The governor vetoed last week a bipartisan proposal from the General Assembly that would have provided $90 million in state funding for counties and included a provision that would abolish straight-party ticket voting.

WHAT: The House Majority Policy Committee, chaired by Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong/Forest), will travel to Wellsboro, Tioga County, to host a roundtable discussion with local businesses, education institutions and organizations. Topics to be discussed will include rural broadband access, workforce development, and deregulation and government barriers to small business. This is part of the House Republican Caucus’s #GoodJobs4PA legislative package.
HARRISBURG – Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming/Union) announced today that local fire companies and EMS services in Lycoming and Union counties will receive grants from the Office of the State Fire Commissioner. The grants are funded through state gaming proceeds and applications are still open until the end of May.
