HARRISBURG – Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming/Union) will launch a series of town hall meetings next week.

On Monday, Aug. 27, he will host a meeting at the White Deer Community Park Building, 992 White Deer Pike in White Deer, and on Wednesday, Aug. 29, he will be at Picture Rocks Volunteer Fire Company, 180 Main St. in Picture Rocks. Both sessions are scheduled for 6:30-8 p.m.

“Town hall meetings offer a great opportunity for residents to learn more about what’s happening in state government, and to ask questions and share concerns about the challenges facing our Commonwealth,” Everett said. “I encourage people to come out and be involved in making our communities better places to live, work and raise our families.”

Everett will offer an update on the state budget, school funding and pension liabilities. Other issues that may be discussed include efforts to curb the opioid crisis, child safety, school safety and more.

In addition to the meetings coming up next week, Everett will hold additional town meetings as follows:

• Tuesday, Sept. 4: Trout Run Volunteer Fire Company, 241 State Route 14, Trout Run.
• Monday, Sept. 10: Jersey Shore Independent Hose Company, 130 Pennsylvania Ave., Jersey Shore.
• Tuesday, Sept. 18: Eldred Township Volunteer Fire Company, 5556 Warrensville Road, Montoursville.

All meetings are scheduled from 6:30-8 p.m.
